Man of the match, Phil Jones, highlights Manchester United's problems

Phil Jones scores the only goal against Shakhtar Donetsk 
Manchester United scored their first goal and won their first game in three last night against Ukrainian team Shakhtar Donetsk. Phil Jones, playing once again in midfield, was considered man of the match by most. He performed well, but when a 21 year old center back playing out of position is your best player; you've got problems.

Manchester United's season starts to take shape



With Manchester United suddenly finding themselves five points from top, were pundits premature in dismissing their title chances?

The hyper-criticism of Manchester United has led to an incredible amount of football pundits to write their season off. It is understandable that the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson was going to bring the microscope over his successor David Moyes, but the reaction from some parts of the media has sounded as if they are hoping he fails just so they have a good story to fill their columns with.
