A quick change of direction saw another white shirt tackling empty space and Johnson dived over for a try. He jumped to his feet, arms held above is head triumphantly, and let out a roar. The scores were level but the victory was secure. Johnson was never going to miss the conversion and the English team new it. In just twenty seconds victory had turned to defeat, ecstasy into heartbreak. The dream of a place in a home world cup final had slipped through their fingers. I game they should have won England had fallen short once again. Classic.

So a disappointing end to the Rugby League World Cup for the home team. The England cricket team are currently being embarrassed by the Australians in the Ashes, trailing by 537 runs.
